Contraindications for Cosmetic Brow Tattooing

Please be aware that the following conditions may prevent you from receiving your scheduled treatment. If any of these apply to you and you have an upcoming appointment, kindly inform Bloom Cosmetic Lounge promptly.

Important Medical Contraindication Information for Cosmetic Tattooing:

1. Pregnancy or breastfeeding

2. Diabetes

3. Use of acne medication, including Accutane, within the last 6-12 months. Doctor's approval required.

4. Bleeding disorders such as Van Willebrand's disease, anaemia, or haemophilia

5. Prescription blood thinners usage. Permission from your doctor needed to discontinue usage for treatment. Do not stop medication without doctor's consent. Written consent required.

6. Recent chemotherapy treatment within the last 6-12 months. Doctor's consent required.

7. Heart concerns or conditions

8. Autoimmune disease

9. Active eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area

10. History of keloid scarring

Important Information Regarding Treatment and Lifestyle Factors:

1. Wrinkle reduction treatment: Allow a minimum of 2 weeks before and after your cosmetic tattoo.

2. Volume loss treatment: Allow a minimum of 4 weeks before and after your cosmetic tattoo.

3. Chemical peels: Avoid any chemical peels 4 weeks pre and post treatment.

4. Acne: Treatment is not recommended if dealing with active acne.

5. Moles: We do not work directly over moles but can work around them.

6. Sunburn: Sunburned skin will not be treated.

7. AHA skincare: Avoid AHA skincare products 2 weeks pre and post treatment.

8. Previous cosmetic tattoo: Consultation required prior to scheduling treatment if you have had a previous cosmetic tattoo.

9. Oily skin: Microblading may not be suitable for oily skin. Consultation recommended for further discussion.

Note: Failure to disclose any contraindications may result in appointment cancellation and forfeiture of deposit.

To ensure optimal results, please adhere to the following recommendations:

1. Avoid the following treatments 30 days before Cosmetic Tattooing:

   - Fruit or milk acids

   - Laser treatments

   - Chemical peels

   - Exposure to strong sunlight (tanning or sunbathing)

   - Wrinkle reduction and volume loss treatments

   - Microdermabrasion, mesotherapy, or any other intense treatments that may cause skin irritation. 

2. Refrain from taking Aspirin, Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E, Ibuprofen, or blood thinners, unless medically necessary, 72 hours before your procedure. Paracetamol is acceptable.

3. Abstain from consuming coffee, alcohol, or energizing drinks the day before and on the day of the procedure.

4. If you typically tint your brows, do so at least 1 week prior to the permanent makeup procedure.

5. If you wax, thread, or tint your eyebrows, ensure it is done at least 72 hours before your scheduled procedure.

6. Wash your hair before the procedure.

First Week:

1. Avoid touching the treated area for 1 week.

2. Keep the area dry for 7 days.

3. Clean the area with fragrance-free wipes or a damp cloth at night.

4. Apply aftercare solution twice daily for 7 days.

5. Avoid saunas, pools, and excessive sweating for 7 days.

First Two Weeks:

6. Do not apply other products to eyebrows for 2 weeks.

7. Avoid picking or scratching flakes to preserve pigment.

8. Refrain from makeup on treated area for 14 days.

9. Start applying sunscreen daily after 2 weeks to protect eyebrow colour.

First Month:

10. Avoid chemical peels, retinol, or AHA skincare for 30 days.

11. Minimise intense sun exposure (tanning or sunbathing) for 30 days post-treatment.

Days 1-3: Your eyebrows will initially appear dark in colour, which will fade by up to 70% as they heal.

Days 4-7: Expect dandruff-like flaking but refrain from picking or scratching. Apply aftercare as needed.

Days 8-14: Some areas of your eyebrows may appear faded or even disappear temporarily; this is normal and will improve as you continue to heal.

Weeks 2-6: Your eyebrows will be mostly healed, but the colour may still be settling. A touch-up appointment will be scheduled 6-8 weeks after your initial treatment to ensure colour stabilisation and make any necessary adjustments.
